Those dates that sit in your mind, some how special but even though no one else would recall, you definitely remember.

As you go through life, there are (perhaps) many significant things that have happened. This date or that. Your birthday, anniversaries, kids being born, and more.

Your friends from childhood and their birthday, prom maybe or graduation.

No one else will even think about them.

I am not talking about an assassination or attempted one of a president like Kennedy (I was not born yet) or Reagan (I was born, but super young,) the Challenger or 9/11, the recession in 2008, Covid19, or a total solar eclipse. Just to bring a few things to mind that might be well-known for all…but this is not what I mean.

I am thinking of the unique to you – and maybe others close to you – that are particular, specific events in your life:

• a proposal
• new jobs
• buying a house
• learning to ride a bike
• taking the first subway ride
• a trip overseas
• seeing the Grand Canyon in person
• annual carnivals and the fireworks you watched sizzle on the ground next to you before they fizzled out – including how it smelled and how you were fine, but could have been…should have been nervous
• keeping your kids home two-days before the world shut down and before the school district announced a 2-week spring break
• being promoted
• being fired
• hearing a diagnosis
• learning about bitcoin or AI or how social media algorithms work
• discovering something completely new for the very first time and sharing your knowledge with others

Yep, those dates and moments in time that you will never somehow forget, even if you don’t know where you were, (although you probably do.) When they come around each year, you can think back, How did you feel? What did you think? How did it change you? All of this and more…so stay in touch and never, ever forget. Maybe you will want to write it down; just in case.
