April Fool’s Day is sometimes thought of as a way to enhance life, add some levity…make it fun.

Or, is it?

I guess it depends on the level of the prank and how complicated or realistic it is.

When we were kids, the stories were silly. Salt in the sugar canister or whipped cream instead of shaving cream (not as bad as the other way around).

Some of the ideas were possibly exaggerated, well thought out but nearly impossible to carry out. Far and away more clever and involved, taking days and many people to pull it off.

• The drywall and fresh coat of paint over a doorway (making it appear to disappear.)
• The relocated car on a city street (which only appeared to have been stolen.)
• The fake break up or fake wedding proposal (equally scary.)
• The identical twins who went out with their sibling’s date instead (really, you couldn’t tell?)

Ahh, maybe those were just urban legends. Retold and passed along. Never actually happening.

Or, were they actually real, causing more problems than anyone ever could have expected?

Whatever the case may be it is over now, for one more year.

Hopefully, you and those around you just decided to make it fun and nothing more than a silly little gag. Nothing that a change of clothes couldn’t remedy and a “sorry I am late my husband played a little joke on us in the kitchen”. Laugh it off and let’s get on with the rest of the month.
