Talk to them. Listen to them. Take notes, and more notes than you ever thought you should.

Then, you can write a pitch, an e-mail, or website copy.

Or, you can write a letter of recommendation along with an e-mail introduction to a colleague who is hiring.

Perhaps, it will be a biography…telling good tales, anecdotes and help their story to come to life for the reader.

Now, who is it that you write for today – for work, for fun or for family. Tomorrow, it may change, and continuing to practice is a very good idea.

I have notes, and more notes than I could ever have imagined…but sometimes, that is the way to anchor the thought – even if I never look at them again.
