Hi, it’s me…Just touching base over here.

It’s that time again. If you haven’t heard from someone in a while, you just have to reach out.

• Call them and say hello.
• Send an e-mail to follow up.
• Hit that direct message link after you see their latest post on LinkedIn or Instagram.
• A much longer lead time, but still quite effective is to pop a letter or a postcard in the mail.

How long has it been? Too long. There is always way too much time in between visits, lunches, debates, conversations, and even – you know what it’s like watching the dreaded, undulating 3 dots and waiting for the bubble to pop up with new – text messages.

Touching base is the non-committal, but welcome outreach that they may need to come up for air, stop working for a minute or a day and just hang out. Since you are someone they like to be with and talk to – someone they cannot really live life with out – don’t make them wait any longer. This is your reminder. Go.
