• Repeat the instructions again.
• Demonstrate while explaining each step.
• Give them the help guide.
• Show a video.
• Let them take notes.
• Ask them to show you.
• Have them to teach someone else.

Few will get it the first time around, especially if they are multi-tasking, talking to someone else or totally distracted. Be ready to clear the deck and help them focus. It will help you, to help them.
