I am constantly trying to encourage others, and myself, to make the time to do what you want to do.
- Help others.
- Read a book.
- Cook dinner.
- Write.
- Volunteer.
- Educate others and keep learning – with an open mind.
- Get enough sleep.
- Recharge your batteries.
- Exercise.
- Take care of your self.
- Relax.
- Enjoy a movie.
- Sit outdoors (not today, it’s freezing, actually below freezing!)
- Look around you.
- Sleep in.
- Help more clients.
Yesterday, I was driving the kids to school and with every fiber of my being, I wanted to stop. On the highway. Just for a moment, to take pictures of the morning sky. (I only saw this skyline because my husband was traveling, otherwise he is the one who does this every morning – thank goodness for early risers!)
Of course, I couldn’t stop off the highway, they would have been late…and thus making our youngest late…and in turn, I would have been late for my morning workout AND for a client meeting to boot!
I just wished, how I wished, that I could make the time to do ALL of the things that I enjoy. I love seeing “things” in a new way, a different way and I would love to have been able to be a semi-professional photographer in my life. Alas… it was not meant to be – nor was snapping a picture of that skyline, because when I was driving that same road only 2 hours later, the image was completely different and the mood was gone. I, of course, remember it; however, until the “memory-printer” is invented, no one will ever be able to see what I saw, again.
