Help Others First

Naturally you help others first. You have always been that way.

Share a snack with someone in elementary school who forgot one or doesn’t like their lunch. Teach them how to tie their shoes because their parents are left handed and the way they did it is confounding. Lend a hand when someone needs to get to the top of the hill, then make your own way up.

Share advice with your creative approach to solving the problem. Help with homework or editing so they can be their best.

Share the blanket, making room – there is always room for one more. Everyone has a seat, a place to be and can get warm, too. Move over so they can see over the person much taller who is in front of them somehow.

Be there. Show up. Ask questions. Lend a hand…help others first. No wonder you are such a great parent. You have been training your entire life and now, you get to teach others the way, too.
