A Failure to Communicate

“Ahhh, what we have here is a failure to communicate.”

Isn’t this such a true statement?

Communication is so very important in whatever it is that you are doing…

  • Customer service.
  • Product description.
  • An attack.
  • Escape plan.
  • Details of your project.
  • Family holiday.
  • Responsibilities at work (or home – aka chores).
  • Explaining your position or beliefs.
  • Teaching.
  • Writing…

Whenever things go wrong – especially noticeable in movies because it is designed to be clearly obvious to the viewer – it is usually because of a lack of communication. In the case of Luke – a failure to communicate.

Choose your words carefully. Edit where you need to be more clear. Try again if it doesn’t work the first time, but maybe also have someone else try to repeat what you mean to make sure it is what you really want to say.
