Setting Expectations

At the heart of most disputes or disagreements is the lack of communication in setting expectations from the beginning.

You don’t have to have detailed contract terms and lengthy agreements, but you should at the very least have a conversation.

Where you go is limited only by your preferences.

  • What do you want?
  • What do they want?
  • Where do you want to go?
  • Why do you think we should?
  • Is there a better option?

Is there a meeting of the minds? If so, then you have done the right thing in terms of setting expectations and limiting or mitigating the frustration when things don’t turn out the way you (or they) wanted. Most of the time, if you start right from the beginning, the sky is the limit.
