Oh, I think you’re just saying that…

• to make me feel better.
• to make amends.
• to stop me from complaining.
• to stop me from talking about it.
• to make me question my knowledge.
• to make me wonder what it really means.
• to stop me from posting a negative comment online.
• to stop me, from ordering what I wanted to order.

To the person at the call center, I can legitimately say, “you’re just saying that” because it is on the script and I know you really don’t mean it.
