What Was Said

In most cases, what was said

by a parent to a child –

by a child to a parent –

in the last-minute rush to work, the airport or a family dinner –

on day one, two or three or day 11, 12 or 13 of a two week family vacation –

when someone is really tired, distracted or stressed –

… is completely and utterly off the cuff, unscripted, not-well thought out and quite possibly the wrong thing.

For sure, what was said in any and all of these scenarios should not be held onto forever and a day. It was also probably promptly forgotten. Which is what you should do. Right now. Do not hold on to that stuff. Let it go. If you must know more, ask for clarification and work it out.
