If sunflowers are your favorite, this is their season.

Grown and tall.

Bright and happy.

Yellow or red.

Filled with seeds.

They look to the sun throughout the day and go to sleep at night.

My daughter reminded me – as we waited one more day for the festival, that we could wait, but not too much longer – because sunflowers are your favorite. Of course, they are but so are dahlias and lily of the valley, and daisies, roses, calla lilies, hydrangeas, peonies and hyacinth among many, many others. Summer blooms make you smile…May you have the joy of seeing many pretty petals in your near future.
