I tried just recently to perform a silent protest by not replying to a plea for support, something I definitely did not agree with in the slightest, little bit. It wasn’t a big thing, it wasn’t political, it definitely wasn’t personal – it was just a difference of opinion.
Turns out I couldn’t be silent.
I had to speak my mind.
I shared, a very concise reply of dissent (I know, hard to believe that I was concise, right?)
Then, they didn’t agree with me and told me so…ever so quickly in a reply back. I had kind of wished that they would have been more silent, but they had a right to come back with a rebuttal.
Since we clearly didn’t agree, I decided to let it just go, agreeing to disagree.
If you must, protest what ails you. Speak your mind. Share your opinions. Or, suffer the consequences and then, suffer in silence, or let it go and move on with your life – it is just too damn short to hang on to the little things that do not matter.
Take a breath, then, go in peace in your own version of a silent protest to someone causing you undue stress.
