You can say no if you would rather not do something. You can also change your mind and agree to do it when - and if - you are ready. You can go back, or decide to join in somewhere later. Do not lament the lack of attention to your inner voice - whether it is a little thing, or a big thing. It may not just be the optional ingredients on your breakfast plate. It could be explaining something that is far too complicated for the time allotted. Or, being recorded when you want to have a simple conversation. Perhaps it is hosting guests who could afford to stay in a hotel (and you don't even know that well.) Sharing your name, e-mail and/or phone number when there is no need, obligation or interest (on your part.) The list can go on and on. These are just a few ideas to get you thinking. What you shouldn't do, is say yes, when you would simply rather not. Be prepared - know what you are willing to do, and what the limits are to your life. Only you know them and can say what you want. Try it out next time the opportunity arises. You won't know how easy it is until you start. And, it is best to be prepared for when you least expect to want to say no. ~ Dawn aka Hat Girl
