It is not for them...it is for the others.

The benefits of the volunteers are for those in the community. The people who cannot, or are unable to handle the situations that life throws at them when they least expect it. The personal emergencies that become life changing, impactful events. 

They run toward, when others are leaving.
They go to the strangers, when they have loved ones at home.
They wake up in the middle of the night, when someone they don't even know calls.
They stay and hold a hand, when there are no words. 
They step up, when most would shy away.

We are the beneficiaries. We are the ones who need them. They do it every day, week and month - for no salary, fee or compensation. They are the volunteers.

They do it for the others. They do it for us.
