When something is new to me, I want to be able to go to a place where the experts are there to help me.

Take, for example, the sporting goods store for the latest sport your kids have decided to pursue. No matter the reason,  be it a lifelong dream, their friends are all doing it, or you are trying to make friends in a new home.

You want to go where everyone knows the answers.

Soccer is not new to me, but it is to my sister – and she is in a new area, too. I hope that the people in the retail stores up there are ready, willing and able to help. Being new isn’t easy. Having to go somewhere and not know what you’re doing can be frustrating. If you are a retailer who sells specialty gear and equipment, be ready to be the professional, the guru, the genius or the know-it-all, in a good, a very good way.
