We probably all learned K.I.S.S. or Keep It Simple Stupid at a young age – what we sometimes fail to do, is remember that it works. We get older, we learn new things, we get smarter, we get fancy and we get complicated and then, we lose the attention that we once had.
You don’t necessarily need a fancy online menu. Mention your best items – describe them fully – make us want to eat it now… Take a picture of your specials for the day. Share this every day with your fans.
You probably don’t need a $50,000 (or even a $5,000) POS – aka Point Of Sale system – but, you do need something that let’s you make sales, take orders and fill them, on time. Can you do it with something more elementary?
You don’t need props and flashing lights to demo your new product. Bring a sample. Let them look at it, touch it, try it.
Today I kick-started something new. It is not in my “wheelhouse” but I am trying and what I am struggling the most with today is to just keep it simple. Let’s get everyone on board before we get convoluted, complicated and we lose momentum as well as the focus of the group.
I’ll let you know how it goes, but just a little reminder in case you, too, are taking on more than you can handle. You’ll figure it out and THEN you can add features, new functionality and flashing lights.
