There are some things that you eat, once a year, just for Easter.
Hard boiled eggs, dip dyed in bright springy colors with decorated shells are just waiting to be cracked and enjoyed on Easter Sunday.
Of course, it is not only about the food…the ham, the scalloped potatoes, the fresh peas, the thin, crisp asparagus – we always had new clothes, too.
A polka dot or gingham pastel dress, with white shoes, little gloves and patent leather handbags, too. All super adorable, as long as you are under the age of 10.
Eating jelly beans and chocolate bunnies for breakfast round out the nostalgia and memories of years past – things that were only allowed once a year – just for Easter.
