I Know It is (still) the Holiday

I know it is (still) the holiday and the passage of time doesn’t really matter, but you should probably still brush your hair before you go out the door.

Or, at least check it in the mirror before you make your dash to the car.

Today, in running a few short errands, I was simply floored by the number of people who looked like they just rolled out of bed, threw on some clothes and went out. In public. Looking like they have been in bed for the last 4 days.

Even though that might be true, they may have been in a carb / cookie / cocktail coma for the last few days, but really.

That look is only acceptable for babies and the elderly, the ones who are bed-ridden.

I am sorry. I know it is (still) the holiday and I should be more accepting. I just didn’t know if you knew that it was looking that bad. Back to work and back to school and back to a normal schedule probably can’t happen soon enough.

PS I know, talk to me on Wed when I am lamenting the early morning alarm clock and the darkened skies, still far too early to be out and about heading to school…with bed head. Feel free to tell me it is sticking up in 4 different places.

PPS And, no. Not one of these people had curlers in their hair – but, while I don’t think that is really a good idea either, at least it would show that they are trying to look presentable for later.
