Sometimes, the most complicated question can be have you read…

• this (or that) new fiction book?
• the news(paper)?
• Twitter?
• Facebook?
• their bio?
• the resume for the new hire?
• the website of a potential client?
• the blog?

Depending on their answer, it can be a long, give and take conversation. Hours of dialogue that create positive communication and develop a deepening relationship.

You can learn from them, they can learn from you and you can certainly learn alot about each other.

However, sometimes the answer may make you ask a follow up question, like “have you read anything lately?” If that is the next thing you ask, well then, you are having an entirely different conversation.
