Typically, experience matters and people who have it are able to show that they have it with out really having to do very much.

Telling me that you have years of it, but not exhibiting this in practice means nothing. In fact, it is worse that you tout your excessive time in the industry, but then act poorly.

I would rather you just impress us with your willingness to listen, share and collaborate. Be a team player. Contribute to the group effort. Let others learn from you. Learn from them, too.

No matter who you are, how old you are, or how long you have been in the industry, all experience matters. Especially, the experience you share by showing up, being there for the team and acting professional. I’ll happily take an intern who behaves better than someone who has been there since the beginning.
