Being Careful

Sometimes, being careful doesn’t get you what you want.

I am not saying that taking risks always gets you what you want either. You can start out slow, articulate and specific. You may actually still be taking a risk. Try putting it out there and hoping for the best.

  • Order something without a material number of reviews.
  • Propose a new solution.
  • Pick a book that you have not read (for book club no less.)
  • Find a new item on the menu.
  • Describe exactly what you want and see if they can make it.

We are often being careful without even realizing, just by staying with the status quo and picking the same old, trusted thing. Stop, think, try something new and you may realize this was the best thing you could have done. No one ever made things change by continuing to do the same thing, over and over again.
