We all, right now, should be trying to follow the mantra to be your best self.
- Being patient.
- Being kind.
- Being helpful.
- Being proactive.
- Being there for others who need us most.
- Being (and staying) healthy.
While you are at it, try to look your best, too.
You want to be able to look at yourself in the mirror and be able to smile back at who you see…
Speaking for my own self, I know when I don’t think I look my best, I can’t feel confident or sure of myself.
Now is not the time to just hang out in sweatpants, and that ratty old sweatshirt from your last painting project. If it is too tight, too short, too long, too weird of a color…
Don’t wear it.
Even if no one but you will see.
Of course, in this new world of video conferencing you never know who might.
So, while we ensure that we are connecting (enough) even while social distancing…be sure to do everything possible to be your best self. Emotionally, professionally and confidently going about our (new) normal routines. We will hopefully then be able to trust that we are making the right decisions, based on what we know today. Tomorrow might change, so we have to just do what we can do now.
