When you ask and receive, this is a good thing.

Unless, what you asked for was not what you really wanted and you were just testing the waters.

Think through what you really want.

Access to a better future.

Access to more money.

Access to the “cool kids”.

Access to education.

Access to the “boys club”.

Access to a promotion, management and more work.

Access to the conversations that happen behind closed doors.

There is great responsibility on the other side, and you may want it but you may not. If you ask and receive, you can only blame yourself for getting what you want.
