Unless they had been there, or done it too, who would know what you experienced?
No one. I mean no one, specifically.
But, they could – through similar experiences – have some level of understanding and quite possibly some empathy.
Shared experiences are the best – they create common ground and relational connectivity. These tie you to each other and make it possible to relate better, help more and be effective.
If you don’t have anyone who was actually there, then figure out who would know best from their own life and history to find common ground.
