It doesn’t take too much effort to find out who can help you.

The effort comes in when you have to actually get them to provide the assistance. Some, easier than others…you pay them directly, or someone pays them because you will pay for the overall products or services. Or, they don’t actually get paid…

• Firefighter
• Doctor
• Deli counter staff
• Police officer
• Waiter
• Boat captain 
• Retail clerk
• Hairdresser
• Teacher
• Friend
• Parent
• Stranger

An overarching goal when you can’t necessarily ask for yourself, is to capture assistance from volunteers who can help – without requesting anything in return – nothing more than deserving the help. Many won’t ask, but that is where someone who is willing to help can offer whatever it is that they can do. Time. Extra hands. Food. Shelter. Water. Empathy. Technical and mechanical skills. Now is a good time to offer whatever it is that you can do to help. There’s definitely something you can do.
