There’s a School For That

Turns out, no matter what profession it is that you want to work, (probably) there’s a school for that…along with money to be made, paid and/or traded for the education, certificate and training.

Architecture, boat captain, chemistry, dance, engineering, fishing, geology, hair styling (and cutting), investigative detective, journalist, kickboxing, lexicography, mechanics, neurology, optometry, pediatrician, quartermaster, recruiter, salvager, timekeeper, undertaker, violinist, water rescuer, x-ray technician, yoga instructor or zoologist…and everything in between this random (or not so) A to Z list.

Some of these, you would think, could be taught as a trade, by someone who knows it already. Working as an apprentice still may be necessary along with formal schooling. For all of these, there’s a school for that and you must go or you can’t sit for your license to work in this field. Clearly there are many that need a formal education and years of it, under a watchful eye, grading and exams. It is far more rare today for those who learned from their parents so they could do the same kind of work. Even more rare that you would be allowed to practice, without getting into a school of some kind or another.
