It is up to you and your kids to be able to enjoy some summer fun – even when raining.
As a kid, we always wanted to be outside. No matter what it was like out there in the great big world of ours.
- Hot.
- Humid.
- Grey.
- Cold.
- Snowing. (Ok, it never snowed in the summer, but we got hail once.)
- Raining.
Of course, we didn’t have the Internet or central air conditioning (as a matter of fact, I still don’t have central A/C – but that is a topic for a blog about living houses that are over 100 years old.)
So, whether we had a pool or not, the summer days when it rained were still prime for being out of doors.
No wellies. No rain coats. No umbrellas. No hats.
Just running around splashing, laughing and giggling with our friends. Having so much summer fun – even when raining…it was a good skill to have, and should be one we re-acquire and master no matter our age. You never know when it is going to happen and there is no reason to be sad (or bored) in the summer.
