I think you should just play the game.

The ones your kids, family, or friends want to play.

Also, the one that your co-workers know well.

Or. And this may also make sense…

Fake it till you make it. (Learning as you go until you too are an expert.)

Sometimes this is the only way to play the game, but then, you can win. Or, at least enjoy the time together.
