In the category of “taking on life” you are simply parents forever.

• You are not babysitting them when your spouse is out.
• You are not sticking around to help.
• You are not just doing the part-time parenting thing.

There really is no other way to say it. From birth until today…no matter how long it goes – you are the ones they can call on for a hug, for help and for advice. Or, just to be there as they experience something they have never done before (and you may not have either.)

Even when they are fully grown, you are still their parents forever. It isn’t a role to be taken on lightly, but it is certainly the most rewarding thing you will ever (ever) do.
