Going off plan and having fun is something that you have to do every once in a while. I always like the things we do when it is a spur of the moment, not fully thought out and totally off plan.

When talking with Lauren K yesterday, we both agreed that the things that we think about forever, schedule out way (way) in advance and we think are going to be the absolute best – just don’t hold a candle to the spontaneous fun that we’ve had.

Today was supposed to be a rainy, gray day – all day. It turned out to be full of sunshine and at least 10 degrees warmer than the forecast. Thank goodness and so much better for all the soccer games that were played, the winery tours that were enjoyed and of course, the big things – the weddings that were planned out for weeks, months or even years in advance.

I’m not telling you to see a sunny day ahead and decide to get married – just because it’s sunny and it was supposed to rain – but didn’t. Just tour that winery, go to the soccer game, take a bike ride, enjoy a day off!

Celebrate the spur-of-the-moment idea. Embrace life. Ditch the plan. Be spontaneous.

You’ll appreciate it all the more.
