Nothing Lasts Forever

We have nearly made it through a long, hot summer heat wave and weekend – luckily, the cooler air is coming, reminding us that nothing lasts forever.

These days, there is a long list of things that have a short life-span.

Binge watching your newest favorite show…whether it has 1 season or 9, you can only hang on to those episodes until they are done.

Toasters, coffee pots and cell phones, they all have somewhere between a year and two years before they just don’t work quite as well as they did when they were shiny and new.

Your SUV…while some will last and last, others appear to be having problems – right around the end of your manufacturer warranty (never mind the fact that you are still paying your monthly payment, it’s time to replace a major part.)

This generation knows that nothing lasts forever; but when something made in post-war America decides to give up, we have to be just a little more sad. Yet, we are happy that it didn’t cause a flood – even though it is just, still, too hot.
