Even as short staffed, some restaurants will say, no reservations required.

Come in, choose your table, but…be prepared.

To wait.

You can take as long as you want to linger, to chat and to just hang out, but…service might take longer.

So, if you are okay with that, we are ready for you.

I am okay with that, as long as I don’t have to buy the ingredients, cook and do the dishes. Some diners are not.

So, tell them the news, up front. Better to be forthcoming, honest and true. While no reservations are needed, some people may have them.
