New Things Matter

I guess, what I was trying to say was, new things matter, more to the person doing them the first time they’re doing them.

Riding a bike.

Taking first steps, then going at it (at a bit of a run).

First time hitting a home run.

Sleeping over at a friends house (or nana’s) without the siblings.

Driving a car for the first time, alone…driving away, waving.

The first paycheck.

Going away to college.

First kisses and first loves…

Of course, as time goes by, new things matter, but not as much as the first time ever. They matter more to the person doing them but sometimes more to the parent observing them…
