In today’s technologically connected world, the distance, in miles, don’t count as a reason to be out of touch. Even with long holiday weekends, families can’t always be together. Logistics from Hawaii to Dublin – and many cities or towns in between – are still a problem when a drive of more than a few hours is too long to make it work for Labor Day.
Facebook. E-mail. Slack. Video chat. You name it…we have it and use them regularly.
If you live with someone who likes to take the long way around, they also firmly believe that the miles don’t count…just enjoy the road, take your time, watch the scenery go by – stop to enjoy some food and beverages along the way. Meet up with friends and family as you go or at least send them a selfie and status update to check in and see how they’re doing. I know they’d like to hear from you.

P.S. I am sure that it’s five o’clock somewhere.
