Sometimes the littlest surprises are the nicest, and they make the biggest impression.
The other day, it was pouring rain. I was running in and out of stores, looking for the right thing to wear to the wedding. The boutique manager offered me a warm welcome to the store, which is totally expected. What wasn’t expected was her offer “How about a nice refreshing bottle of water?”
How much could that cost? Even at retail, which I am sure they didn’t pay, it was a small investment to make a customer feel special.
Today, I came home to find a gift at my front door. It wasn’t something that I had ordered and paid for online (there was a box like that, too.)
Getting real mail in your mail box is an amazing thing. Not that I don’t love getting bills, invoices and direct mail magazines; because – oh, I do – but, I really like letters, postcards, birthday cards, Halloween cards and the like…
An unexpected package – all wrapped up with my name on it – is one of the most special, littlest surprises that you can find. Take a minute this week or this month to figure out that one thing that you can do to make a huge impression on someone. It is easier than you think.
