When you combine having a lot to do, with multiple things happening all at once and having many platforms to exchange information, you will often be intermittently available.

Multi-tasking might have been a thing in the past, but now, I do think that it is more like task switching. I don’t have any empirical evidence, just personal experience.

Listen or read.

Watch or talk.

Understand or miss something.

Text or talk (I do not mean “voice to text”)

Listen or text.

• Probably the reminder that we have probably heard before… you only have one mouth and two ears.
  • You can listen, or you can talk.

If you try to do both, you may not be as clear as you would be if you stopped to think about what you heard and then, formulated what to say.

This is here we are today and for the next few days, months, years even, I may find that this concept of intermittently unavailable is the more accurate situation. Right there. In front of you. Next to you maybe. (Let’s see what we can do about this, okay.)
