End of the season and still, there are more holidays. Holidays to give us days to look forward to each month. Not only are they predicable, they are already on the calendar.

Life is not predictable in most other ways.

• Whether or not roses bloom after the season ends.
• Whether or not it will be sunny next weekend.
• Whether or not there will be less traffic than usual, people taking one more day off.
• Whether or not the teachers our kids got will turn out to be one of the best ones yet.

So many things we just have to wait, to see if they will happen – some with more anticipation than others. Like kids looking forward the next round of the holidays. Holidays that, to be honest, the parents want to have happen sooner than later, too.
