Go Back and Catch Up

If things don’t make sense, or they are unclear – it is fine – not a problem. Just go back and catch up.

We shouldn’t let the conversation continue if someone is lost, or can’t relate.

  • Bring them up to speed.
  • Share the details they need to know.
  • Tell them how it works, or what they missed.

It is important to help them along, further their education and allow them to participate.

Corollary to this, but not about work…

Reading a book on paper allows you to easily go back and catch up when you get lost. Audio books? Not quite the same and believe it or not, far easier to find yourself lost in some other thought, not actually paying attention. If you’re reading for a book club, or a class hopefully you have someone you can rely on to help you fill in the gaps you missed. Either way – find those people – they are the ones you want to surround yourself with through your life.
