All together now is not the same as altogether now…
Which is not as weird as it seems.
- All together = a group, or a gathering in the same place
- as in – all of us, together again.
- altogether = everything being considered and accounted for, in its entirety
- as in – all of us working to accomplish something as a group.
This is super common. Phrases, word combinations and slang that sounds like something else or is spelled similarly, but has an entirely different meaning.
Anyway. We are all together now. It is fabulous. Even if just for a weekend. Every one is accounted for and part of the events happening now.
