This month, the month of February is all about love. This week starts the countdown to what used to be one of my favorite holidays. Then, it wasn’t. It is high up on the list again though.
Today, I share the love of grandmothers and this pic should highlight that thought…

Of course, there are so many other ways that grandmother’s show their love.
- Hugs.
- Kisses.
- Sharing photos of their daughters and sons with their grandchildren.
- Sharing stories of when they were a girl. My Nana wrote a short story about her 12th summer and gave it to me when I turned 12. Being born in May, we shared that little bond of the same birth month.
- Little notes and cards sent by mail.
- Gift cards to Starbucks, Barnes and Noble, Target, Pink, Hot Topic, Game Stop, iTunes.
- Facetime and video chats.
- Sleepovers.
- Vacations to the beach, OBX, Arizona, Florida and Virginia…
- Making favorite breakfasts – just the way YOU like it (not the way mom makes it).
- Snuggling up to read a book and making fun voices for all the characters.
- Passing down heirlooms, from jewelry to scarves, to gloves, to books, to musical instruments, to photos and more.
The list goes on and on. Happy Saturday, one week before Valentine’s Day where it is most certainly all about love, just like family is and should be forever.
