It is always true, no matter what era or genre, the soundtrack matters. You may have your favorites, but the tone and the story depend on it being perfect.

When you can sing along, remembering all the lyrics, they have done a good job.

Carefully chosen.
Artfully crafted.
Creatively applied.

If you are up for it, get your team together, ask them for their very best opinions. You have ideas and singles in mind, but trust them for insights.

In all cases, the soundtrack matters to get the audience to fully believe the storyline. The music makes it memorable, earning both critic and fan reviews - maybe even awards - but that doesn't even matter. Years later, you will still win when they remember it fondly and want to watch again.
