It doesn’t always matter if you use the words you mean, the interpretation is the issue.

People hear what they want.

They think what they will think.

Preconceived notions are a real thing.

Experience bias.

Time and place.

Mood.

All of it. That said… If you (really) carefully choose, and use the words you want to say and then follow up, the communication can continue to find understanding and common ground. I will continue to believe this and that there is a way forward – no matter what.
