I just spent the better part of the day with four of the great dads in our lives: my dad, my husband and two brothers-in-law. Sure. They all work. Who doesn’t know at least a few working dads? I am hoping that they all had a great day, spending time with extended family, extra kids and eating a delicious meal.
I also want to send a shout out of thanks to the restaurant owners; the family run businesses with dads at the helm. The owners who work many more than 8 hours per day, plus commute, 6 or probably 7 days a week, 364 and most likely, even 365 days a year.
Here’s to the dads, especially the working dads. Those who give their kids a sense of dedication to the craft. The ones who help guide, mentor and create new chefs, cooks, waiters, waitresses and customer-centric restauranteurs so that we can take a day and enjoy it with our family; not cooking, not grilling, not washing dishes…except the ones from the crepes I made for breakfast/brunch. Happy Father’s Day boys. Hope you get to play soon, too.
