Withering Images

What comes to mind when you hear the term “withering images” (if anything)?

Here are a few ideas to get you thinking.

  • Wuthering Heights – long, vast moors of with dry grass that is drooping and dying. Too much heat, not enough rain. Maybe not set in England. Arizona instead.
  • A bouquet of flowers that you forgot to water. They were beautiful three days ago and may have lasted a few more days, maybe a week or more – but alas, you forgot about them and now they’re gone.
  • The look a woman gives to someone, not RBF, but not too far off – captured on a Zoom screen and shared with a co-worker with all the admiration and respect in mind. They will show her later and she will be mortified, but grateful that they thought it was a good sign and not a negative one.

The term that was overheard, however was not withering images…but instead glittering images which is an entirely different connotation and thought process. (Whew.) Maybe it is time to read the transcript or rewind the interview. BTDubs… My hearing is perfect – at least from the latest test conducted within the year – so no, that is not it at all.
