Have you ever told someone, or been told, try a different browser – like, ever?
And, not for the benefits of the function, safety and operational ease of the other one, but because the site won’t work on that one.
Sure. It just happened. Which is why I am asking.
They don’t even know what browser I am using… which is potentially worse than not having your site work on one of the top options.
I get it, once a developer comes out with a new one – it is bigger, better, bolder – or, maybe they just got a really good deal. The deal is that their software is pre-loaded on to every new device sold. They don’t even need it to be an improvement on the others. They just want it to be used and become the epitome of ubiquitous.
The customer has to adapt.
Follow the crowd.
Become commonplace just to fit in to the new world.
If the site doesn’t work, and the customer has to try a different browser, then I think there is a strong possibility they will not become your customer. What would you choose?
