When fall comes along, the vibe is totally different than any other time of the year.
People love it or (I think) tolerate it.
There are plenty of things to enjoy, harvest themed events at the farm, on Main Street or at the brewery/winery.
Crunchy leaves, warm bread, crock pot dinners and fires on the patio.
Cooler weather is definitely headed this way – just not today of course. Apparently, the first day of Autumn can just as fickle and ironic as the first day of Spring when it might snow or hit 80 degrees.
Change the wreath on your door and swap out the petunias for mums – they were done anyway – in fact, they gave up a month ago but it was too busy to pay them any attention.
Time to get ready for the big end of year holidays. Plan now, the days will be here before you know it. Rent the tents, make reservations, contact the caterers, buy the kitchen decor and keep sweeping up the leaves.
Invite the family to come home and to visit for as long as they can stay. It is totally different when they don’t live at home all year long but we can pretend for a few days until it is summer again.
