Just like being “early is to be on time and to be on time is to be late” (we won’t mention what being late means) in some cases, tomorrow is today already.
Thinking like this makes it hard to even keep up.
You just skip watching what happens because you are too busy looking forward.
It gets easier over time when you do this all the time. Practice. Good habits can turn out well. Pay particular attention to the things that make it familiar. But, don’t let it become rote.
I am pausing.
Sometimes, I find myself accidentally typing 2025 for events and things that are only just happening this week, or later this month.
They are not even close to being part of the new year.
I haven’t been here in a while.
For a long time, in a lifetime so far away, I lived in an alternative time.
As a buyer, I had to keep thinking six plus months ahead, knowing that even one day too late might break a holiday’s sales. Forecasting products and inventory two full seasons ahead was stressful in the beginning, but it got easier. I made it work and then, I didn’t even look back. It was just…forge ahead. Only look back at the end of the year.
I don’t want to fast-forward. I am looking forward to the coming few months…but, maybe just the concept that tomorrow is today and not too much further than that. If we take one day at a time, while making plans, I think we will be fine. The future is there and it will wait for us.
