Just think of the logistics for something that seems simple to watch. Maybe you have a different opinion if you watch it live or recorded at home versus being there in person. You don’t get the same view as actually being there. Even then…not likely that transport is something that crossed your mind.
So, maybe take a minute and imagine what it takes.
- The planning.
- The materials.
- The tools.
- The spare parts.
- The cars.
- Plus, the people – that is the easiest of it all.
To get it all from one end of the world to another. How much effort it must take, even though we know it is barely a blip in time compared to 75 years, or even 10 years ago. Modern day transport is nothing compared to when this sport started.
I am learning as I go, from each season and even each new race.
On my mind now is how it all comes together. Of course they need at least a week in between!
This is worldwide – not just from one end of the US to the other. Being new to this sport, made me curious to think of the logistics and how each team handles all of the equipment, supplies and gear they need to move.
