The True Definition

When you work through etymology, the true definition of a word matters. It took people years of debate, collaborative input and evaluation to figure it out. After all of this, they wrote a dictionary; others created encyclopedias – taking it from just a word to more of the details, including creation, inspiration and history. Flash forward a hundred years and Wikipedia as well as other similar sites were created.

You can’t use the word to define itself.

Or, even the “opposite” of the word.

Yet, we can call it what we want in culture, common slang and street lingo…but the true definition doesn’t change. Facts are facts. Interpretation is where personal opinion, public debate and (yes, even) marketing comes in. And…that my followers is where things can really go awry.
